CHOICE

CHoosing Options for Insomnia in Cancer Effectively

The CHOICE study was a randomized comparative effectiveness trial comparing which of two treatments for insomnia, acupuncture and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-I), is more effective in a sample of 160 cancer survivors. The CHOICE study also examined how well acupuncture and CBT-I improve other symptoms that contribute to insomnia, such as pain, fatigue, anxiety and depression.

This study was conducted at the University of Pennsylvania and was funded by the Patient Centered Research Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
